CultureSource is proud to announce our second-annual cohort of Wayne County educators to receive Fisher Arts Education Minigrants. $9000 was awarded to six PreK–3rd grade teachers to support the cost of cultural field trips, and the purchase of art supplies and equipment for their classrooms.

CultureSource is very proud to be working with the Fisher Foundation—helping support the work educators are doing to bring creativity into their classrooms. We believe investment in creative youth development is a cornerstone of creating more vibrant communities throughout Wayne County.

Ida MwaiProgram Coordinator

A core tenant of this program is acknowledging the high workload of educators, and aiming to reduce barriers to funding by foregoing a traditional application process. Instead of asking teachers to fill out traditional applications, we asked CultureSource members with ties to rockstar teachers in Wayne County to recommend educators who could use some extra support for their classroom. We’d like to thank our members who took the time to recommend a majority of the teachers who received funding.
