CultureSource Community:
At CultureSource, our mission to advance creative expression in Southeast Michigan guides all we do. You may remember we built on that mission in 2022 when we acquired the national arts consulting firm EmcArts, giving our members and partners tested tools to face disruption and complexity with confidence. Today, we are proud to publicly introduce CultureSource Consulting and Change Management Services—a refreshed suite of offerings that helps arts leaders and artists navigate complexity, adapt, and thrive.

Strength of Legacy
Serving on the EmcArts board was a real privilege. I watched their adaptive strategy help organizations like The Public Theater not just solve problems but find the courage to face ones they had long avoided. That kind of support changes people—not just plans.
I feel that same privilege now as a member of the CultureSource board. Up close, I’ve seen them carry forward that spirit while making planning, development, and coaching more available at a time when so many arts leaders are stretched, exhausted, and trying to chart a path forward.
If your organization is navigating difficult decisions, I encourage you to connect with CultureSource. The right strategic partnership can reset what feels possible.

Now Live: LearningSource

LearningSource is CultureSource’s new online learning hub, developed in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. It offers materials that complement synchronous workshops, self-paced courses, and other useful videos and articles.

          Tech in the Arts

In partnership with the Knight Foundation, we are running two cohort programs, Adapting to Digital Tech in the Arts and Collaborative R&D Labs, that help artistic and administrative leaders experiment with and adopt new technologies.

          Facilitator Institute

In our Facilitator Institute, practitioners learn about guiding team discovery, planning, or change processes and about frameworks for adaptive conversations and collective learning. From program alum Jamie Sharp, Grantmakers in the Arts senior director: “This program gave me tools that now shape every aspect of my facilitation—I approach the work with greater intentionality, adaptability, and care.”
Arts Leaders as Cultural Innovators (ALACI)

A nine-month cohort program for arts executives, ALACI strengthens leaders’ capacity to navigate uncertainty and lead with purpose through immersive seminars, executive coaching, peer learning, and real-time experimentation. Leaders from the 2024 Metro Detroit cohort today report feeling more equipped to work amid ambiguity and support diverse teams making lasting impact.
