Job Description:

Detroit Public Theatre seeks a Corporate Giving and Events Coordinator to join the company part time (20 hours, 3 days a week) in January of 2020. This is a new position with a growing company. Salary Range: $30,000 with growth projected in the next two years.

The Corporate Giving and Events Coordinator will work with the Producing Artistic Director (PAD) responsible for Development at Detroit Public Theatre. They will be responsible for identifying and securing new corporate sponsorship for DPT’s new building, productions, programs, and events. The Coordinator will also manage the annual gala with assistance from development staff and create a new annual event.

Responsibilities will include:

*Refining DPT’s sponsorship materials, levels, and benefits packages.

*Working with PAD to maintain and strengthen relationships with existing program and production sponsors, and increasing sponsors’ levels of giving

*Identifying new corporate sponsors (goals set with PAD each year)

*Generating reports to Sponsors

*Managing Sponsor Benefits and tickets

*Working with PAD, Co-chairs, and Development Associate to plan and execute Cash Bash (the annual fundraising gift)

*Secure new corporate sponsorship for Cash Bash

*Develop a new annual event for DPT

Preferred Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

*5 years development experience with a focus on event planning and corporate sponsorship

*Must be able to work well independently and to manage, train, and motivate others

*Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required

*Excellent organizational skills required

*Candidate must be able to successfully handle multiple priorities in high stress situations

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other Windows applications required

*Position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, as well as being able to perform in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

*Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills

*Ability to prioritize, identify critical issues and work towards results

*Strong networking skills
